Zenith Serial Numbers –

    • I assume you are referring to a vintage Zenith model. If the 1st number is engraved on the movement (1991508) – this dates it to around 1915. The case or housing number is not required for dating purposes.

  1. Thank you for your information.

Clock is my grandfathers heritage to me. He was born in 1900. Information gives me knowledge of my family. It tells a story.

My WordPress name is nampamarko. I tell the story there.

  2. -hi, I would love to have some information about a vintage gold zenith pocket watch serial number 2970172. Like the model or even the year of piece

    • Looking at the Zenith serial numbers table it appears to be around 1913/14. A picture is always useful as we can determine model style from it too.
      Hope this helps.

    • Zenith serials appear to run from 3600000 in 1946 through to 3700000 at end 1948 – so I would assume late 1947 early 1948, depending on production runs.
Model numbers can also give an approximate date.

  3. I have a zenith pocketwatch, there is an inscription marking it as a gift in 1921 but I was hoping for something more exact. There is a number on the timing that reads 2321652 and a number on the inside of the back case that reads 19229967. Any information you have would be great!

    • Hi Emmett,
Zenith started off in 1865, registered as Zenith name in 1897 and by 1920 had produced more than 2 million watches. As ever, war years tend to blur production dates and it’s true that Swiss makers could be notorious for records, but most estimates indicate that in 1919 Zenith serial numbers had reached approx’ 2,300,000? and up. By 1921 this figure is estimated to have reached 2,500,000? So I would guess the watch date is probably 1920, a year before your inscription – which seems about right.
The case – often outsourced to specialist case makers and any numbers are case relevant only
      Hope this helps.

  4. Hello, I would love to have some information about a vintage zenith automatic watch 100% stainless steel, serial number 9091186. Like the year of piece.

    • Difficult to say without sight of the watch itself – could be the 1980’s if a wristwatch. But you can find out (for a small fee) by applying to Zenith with further details.
Model, photo, case and serial numbers etc. A lookup on the web should give a link or two. They can give exact data.
However, I’ve had issues before tracking Zenith as serial recording/case/model numbers Zenith changed through the years and can be tricky without more detailed information.

      • Thank you for responding to my question. O have a photos if that will helping to be more accurate. But how can I upload them?
        Kind regards, Sven
